Scandic Friends Points Earning Calculator

Cost Currency

Select the currency used by the hotel — for example, if you are staying at a hotel in Oslo, select Norwegian Krone (NOK). Scandic Friends is a EUR-denominated programme, so the calculator converts your entered cost to EUR before calculating points. The actual exchange rate used by Scandic may differ slightly from the rate used here, which could result in a small difference in estimated points.

Total Cost (excl. Tax)

Enter the total stay cost excluding taxes (VAT) and fees, as shown on the hotel booking site or final invoice. Scandic Friends points are earned on the pre-tax amount only.

Total Cost (incl. Tax)

Enter the total stay cost including taxes and fees. This field is used for the return-on-spend calculation.

Status

Select your Scandic Friends tier. All members earn a base rate of 20 points per €1 spent (excluding VAT). The first three tiers earn at this base rate, while higher tiers receive a bonus:
New Friend, Good Friend, Close Friend — 20 points/€1 (no bonus).
Dear Friend, Loyal Friend — 25 points/€1 (25% bonus).
True Friend, Best Friend — 30 points/€1 (50% bonus).
The bonus applies to base hotel points only — promo points are not multiplied.

Offers

Active Scandic Friends promotions will be listed here when available. Select the Custom Offer option to enter a new or targeted offer. You can choose from a fixed amount of bonus points per stay, per night, or a multiplier of the total base points.

Nights

This field only appears when needed to calculate points from an offer that is based on nights stayed.

Extra Points

Use this field for any additional points not covered by the other fields — for example, a targeted offer or bonus from a partner promotion.

Point Value

Scandic Friends points can be used to book hotel stays at fixed points prices, meaning the value per point will vary depending on the current cash rate for the same room. The default of €0.004 per point (0.4 euro cents) is an approximate average, converted to US cents using the current EUR/USD exchange rate. Points can also be used for partial payment towards a stay or items in the Scandic points shop.

Not Included in the Calculator

Restaurant and bar earning: Scandic Friends members can also earn points on food and drinks purchased at Scandic hotel restaurants and bars. This on-property earning is not included — the calculator only estimates points earned on room rates.

SAS EuroBonus exchange: Scandic Friends members can link their account with SAS EuroBonus and exchange points between the two programmes. These post-earning transfers are not modelled in the calculator.
